HackPro24: Specs & Screenshots

I thought I would share some specifications from the Hackintosh I built earlier this year. While it took me many hours of research and implementation, it was all worth it, and I’d do it again. My reasons are simple: I can add higher end components that Apple doesn’t usually offer, and I can save a bunch of money doing it as well.

I’ve dubbed my Hackintosh “HackPro24″. It’s built on an Intel Core i7 950 CPU with an MSI Big Bang Xpower motherboard. The hardware is about 2 years old, and is the first generation of the Core i7 series. The next series was the Sandy Bridge machines, and earlier this year, Intel released the Ivy Bridge hardware.

I call this the HackPro24 because of the 24GB of DDR3 RAM I have installed.

The Displays tab doesn’t even have enough space to display all the monitor information. I have 3 monitors attached with two competing video cards. An XFX GTX 470 in the primary slot and an XFX Radeon HD 6870 card in a secondary slot.

Using the tonymacx86 Multibeast tools, getting this setup was quite easy.
